Bitcoin? Was ist das denn? Lassen wir Wikipedia sprechen: “Bitcoin ist eine Form von elektronischem Geld, das dezentral auf der Basis eines Computernetzwerks erzeugt wird. Es verbindet Eigenschaften von Bargeld mit solchen von internationalen elektronischen Überweisungen. Das Netzwerk wird gebildet aus den Rechnern aller Teilnehmer, die eine kostenlose Open Source-Software ausführen. Der Besitz von Geldeinheiten kann durch den Besitz von kryptographischen Schlüsseln nachgewiesen werden.

Das Konzept wirft wegen seiner neuartigen Verbindung bisher unvereinbarer Eigenschaften rechtliche, wirtschaftliche und technische Fragen auf, die strittig diskutiert werden.”

Und genau das wollen wir am 30. Juli tun: Über das Konzept - sowohl technisch als auch wirtschaftspolitisch - diskutieren und mögliche Auswirkungen auf unsere Gesellschaft ausleuchten.
